Hopeful Commitment

An Offering Invitation:

Beginning our story of faith anew, we look toward love incarnate. The human Jesus will feel all the same feelings that we feel, that is, of course what incarnation means.

The baby Jesus, felt hunger crying out to be held at Mary’s breast. The adult Jesus, like us, must’ve felt despair at times. He must’ve felt joy and fear and anxiety. Jesus also felt hope. He trusted in the one true God who always keeps promises.

As the offering plate comes around place your financial offering in the plate but also — and more importantly — place your hand over it and silently commit to God to use your gifts, talents, and heart of hope for furthering the unfolding realm of God on earth.
