Worshiping in Hope

*Call to Worship/Litany for Lighting the Advent Candle of Hope

In a time when hope was veiled beneath laws prohibiting prayer…
Daniel worshiped the God of extravagant love.

In a time when the price of hope was to be thrown into a pit of hungry lions…
Daniel worshiped the God of abundant grace.

Call to Worship optional ending:

In a time when our world is fragmented and filled with too much hate.
We gather to worship in hope.

Lighting of Advent Candle optional ending:

In a time when our world is fragmented and filled with too much hate…
We light this first candle of Advent, a symbol of trust and hope.
